WHY WE CARE

A mission rooted in family, strengthened by community.

Founded in 2008 by Kevin Byrd and Blossom Brown, the Brown Byrd Foundation is a health and wellness nonprofit focused on prostate cancer awareness and prevention through education, early detection, and screening conversations.

Both founders lost their grandfathers to prostate cancer. Their experiences inspired them to honor their grandfathers' legacies and advocate for families through greater awareness.

They also wrote and produced The Last Dayz, a short film about a young man facing a prostate cancer diagnosis, as an educational tool to encourage important conversations.
